Chelsea Blake

Second and Third Grade Virtual Teacher

Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, Magna Cum Laude,

Appalachian State University

Chelsea is so excited to be starting another year at Old Fort Elementary and will be your child’s virtual second and third grade teacher this year. To have a place of growing knowledge and acceptance is what she wants for her classroom. She hopes that we will be able to work towards a successful year together.

Chelsea was born and raised in McDowell County and attended Appalachian State University where she graduated with a degree in Elementary Education grades kindergarten through sixth grade. She is currently in graduate school at Appalachian State University obtaining her degree in School Administration. She has two beautiful children, Adalynn who is six and Abigail who is two.

Chelsea will be beginning her fifth year teaching. She taught her first three years in Rutherford County at Mt. Vernon Ruth Elementary and this will be her second year at Old Fort Elementary. She is grateful to have become a part of the staff at Old Fort Elementary. They are so supportive and were extremely welcoming. She has taught third, fourth, and fifth grade. This will be here first year as an all virtual teacher for second and third grade.

Teaching has always been a passion for her. Chelsea has a love for learning and she hopes that her students would also learn to love learning as much as she does. By making her classroom a safe, fun, and disciplined place for her students, Chelsea hopes that they will enjoy coming to her classroom and learning something new everyday. Chelsea feels that children are different and require specific attention and affection for them to flourish. She will strive to be that for each of her students; as an educator who loves each child that walks in her door and gives each og them not only an education but a passion to learn.

This year will definitely be a fun year, but as in every school year, things can and will come up. Chelsea believes that a successful year starts with an open communication line between parents/guardians and teachers. Please feel free to reach Chelsea on classdojo or by email, chelsea.blake@mcdowell.k12.nc.us anytime you have concerns.

Mission Statement:

“My mission as a teacher is to instill the belief in each of my students that they can achieve what they set their mind to. I will give my best every day to make sure that each child that comes into my classroom feels welcome and loved. I will give your child relevant knowledge, the courage to try new things, and the curiosity to seek new answers, and the ability to be the best they can be. I want to help all of my students believe in themselves and find their strengths and talents. But most importantly, at the end of the day I want them to know that Mrs. Blake loves them.”
