VANYSSA KENDRICK

English

This year, I’m teaching English I, English III, AP Language and Composition, and Dual Enrollment English. Originally from Maryland, I’ve called Old Fort home for over a decade, where I live with my husband—a Marine veteran from Forest City—and our two children, who attend OFES. I’ve always had a love for animals and a deep appreciation for quiet moments spent sitting on a porch (preferably not doing much moving around!). I chose a career in education because I genuinely enjoy connecting with students and watching them grow as thinkers and individuals. Teaching high school is especially rewarding because teenagers are not only hilarious and honest, but also surprisingly insightful and refreshingly real. I return to MHS each year because of the incredible students and the strong sense of community that make this school feel like home.
