Alongside his wife Megan, son Jackson, and daughter Lincoln, Scott and his family moved to the area after 20 years of Scott's service in the Marines. Scott fell in love with Western North Carolina when his close friend would host him while he was stationed in the state. During Scott's career he served in three Infantry Battalions conducting combat operations in over 20 locations. He was an Instructor and Senior Enlisted Advisor at two Training commands over Enlisted Combat Arms Marines and Marine Officer Students. He also commanded and led at three distinguished Security commands at the highest national and international levels. Aside from his certifications and experience, he retains a BA in  History (Magna Cum Laude) from Arizona State University. When Scott is not in the classroom or on a field trip, he enjoys being outdoors and travelling with his family.
