2026-2027 Fast Track Chromebook Orientation 

 

Students and parents will be required to complete the virtual orientation prior to receiving a new Chromebook. Ninth graders and anyone new to McDowell High School should complete the orientation linked below BEFORE the Open House, on Thursday, August 20th. 

 

Click HERE to complete the Chromebook Orientation.  The Orientation must be completed before a student can receive a Chromebook.

 

New students to MHS must pay a one-time Chromebook Insurance fee.  To save time, fees can be paid on the McDowell High School homepage, before the night of Orientation (see directions below).  Fee Waiver Forms are available for families that need financial assistance. Please contact Angela Bates (angela.bates@mcdowell.k12.nc.us) regarding any fee concerns. 

 

Fees for new students are:

9th Grade: $55

New 10th Grade students: $41

New 11th Grade students: $28

New 12th Grade students: $14

 

Directions to pay fees online prior to Orientation:

-Please go to the McDowell High School home page and click on the "Online Payments" tab above the banner. Scroll down to "Chromebook Fees" and click on the link.

-Follow directions to make a payment. 

-Please indicate your child's name and grade level in the "Description Box" for your payment.
