Press Release: McDowell County Schools Awarded a North Carolina Needs-Based School Construction Grant

(November 18, 2025) McDowell County Schools and Superintendent Dr. Tracy Grit are excited to announce that our district has been awarded $42 million through the North Carolina Needs-Based School Construction Grant program. Dr. Tracy Grit extends heartfelt appreciation to the following partners for supporting us throughout the application process:
