MCS Elementary Schools proudly kicked off Read Across America this week with a district-wide celebration of literacy and community. In honor of Dr. Seuss’ birthday, and to highlight the lifelong importance of reading, schools welcomed a wonderful group of community partners to visit classrooms and share stories with students.
MCS Cabinet staff, Board of Education members, and dozens of community volunteers and Rotarians devoted their time to making this event a success. We deeply value the partnerships we share with our elected officials, City and County government representatives, Rotarians, Mission McDowell, and our Board of Education members — just to name a few. Each person’s presence reinforces our collective commitment to supporting every child’s educational journey.
This annual event brings tremendous excitement to our students, staff, and families. Read Across America not only celebrates the joy of books but also strengthens the bonds between our schools and the community we serve. It was a memorable day of learning, laughter, and inspiration for all involved.
