K-5 Services and Resources
ALTD Specialists work with classroom teachers to develop and implement rigorous and relevant coursework to help students reach full potential. In addition to working closely with teachers by participating in PLC's and providing professional development towards improving advanced instruction, the following services will be offered to K-5 students:
K-5 AIG Students
- Curriculum Support and/or Differentiated Coursework
- Talent Develop Groups - based on academic performance, teacher observations, aptitude screening, and individual student needs
- Tiered Services -offered through classroom teacher and based on individual student needs
- Academic Support: Goal Setting, Project Facilitation, Social Emotional Well-Being
Parent/Guardian Resources
- READ Bowl - optional reading challenge and 100% free
- Outreach Summer Camps and Programs for Students - rising 6th graders may check secondary Summer Opportunities as well, as some events are for grades 6-12
- NCAGT Student Resources K-5 through NCDPI
- Hoagie's Guide for the Gifted - a super site that contains resources for parents, kids and educators

Book Lists
- America's Battle of the Books Book Lists- we do not currently have a Battle of the Books competition for Elementary Schools; however, this list contains book selections for students in grades 2 - 8 that cover a broad range of topics for students' interests
Math
- Noetic Math Leap Ahead Summer Program- offers individualized summer practice as low as $24.95 per student
- Beast Academy- an online math learning platform for elementary students from The Art of Problem Solving
